Happy Monday everyone!
I just saw Professor Denise's message about the blog and remembered I hadn't posted on Friday. I guess I was under the impression that we were going to play with the tech tools that were presented and then post. Thankfully I had a chance to look at some of them a little more over the weekend and will try to post more on the Padlet later this week.
Lyricstraining - I think this tool has some fun features for integrating songs into the classroom more which might distract students from the challenge of learning a new language and allow them to have fun / relax a bit in the classroom. I don't listen to music much so it might take me some time to find appropriate songs, but I could also open it for a student led activity to cut out this step.
PearDeck - Being able to stop and ask people to answer questions occasionally during a presentation is an amazing feature. And since you can even integrate it with a google slides presentation you've already created I am using it for a training I'm giving this Friday with one of my coworkers on becoming more of a warm demander in your tutoring persona. I think it's really helped us make it more interactive and engaging for the tutors who will attend.
Quizziz - It was awesome to try out the tool together especially for a fun quiz on Disney. I have seen the value of using quizzes more recently especially when they're low-stakes and serve to get students more involved in a topic.
Wakelet - after last weeks presentation when Ixchell shared her resources via a wakelet I was curious about this tool so it was fun to see some additional features. Perhaps it's a good place to go for resources in the future as well! And I will definitely be referencing Ixchell's page and can hopefully keep up with Alex's resources as well.
I'm excited to see what other additional resources we can share together!
Have a wonderful week!
